A day at the Zoo

This day had finally come. We are finally bringing the GEMs to the zoo today. Have been postponing this trip for one reason after another. Either one of them fell sick, or it rained. Pearl had been look forwarding to this trip.

The GEMs simply went to choose the best Tiny Explorer and happily sit in it while Papa is purchasing the tickets. These 2 brats hor, cannot tahan leh. Told Papa dun rent the Tiny Explorer as it's very inconvenient to have it around. Said the GEMs like it then rent lor.

不听老人言，吃亏在眼前。 True enough, by the time we reach the Tiger enclosure, he knew he made the wrong decision. Very difficult to pull it along the walkway and it's blocking other ppl too. We decided to return it before we venture even further away from the entrance. Wah liao, end up we paid S$15 for that 10 mins.

Mei gets so excited whenever she sees an animal. This is Pearl's 6th time to the zoo, so she's more looking forward to the Rainforest Kids' World where there's a waterplay area. She's never mind there before.

It's pretty fun but I should have brought their swimming gears instead. Will sure go again, fully equipped, the next time.

IT's TPY Ah Ma's Birthday

I helped the GEMs made 2 bunches of flowers for TPY Ah Ma for her birthday. It's cut of from their handprints and fold into flower petals. Very sweet.







We booked a karaoke room for Ah Ma and our relatives to sing their hearts out.　Pearl and Tory also 高歌一曲。 They sang the 小鸡的呐喊. My mum had been teaching both to sing this song.

Horsey Ride and Kite Flying at the Pasir Ris Park

I brought the GEMs to Pasir Ris Park with Jean's, Claris's and Karen's princesses.

Gallop Stable
The GEMs enjoyed themselves feeding the ponies (er..only Amber, Pearl didn't dare to do it) and riding the ponies. I nearly had my toes crushed by the ponies. The man-in-charge didn't warned me that I have to be careful as I was in my slippers. Anyway, the GEMs enjoyed it so it's worth it. The horsey ride and feeds costs S$10 and S$2 each. Pearl had 2 rounds of rides.

Kite Flying
All of us bought our kites at one of the kite shop at the park, except for Gwyneth, who had brought her huge penguin kite along. All the mummies were sweating and running like mad women trying to fly the kite but 天不做媒，our kites just won't fly.

We had lunch at White Sands (took a cab) and then went back to the Park again. The mega playground was very fun for the kids. All of them enjoyed it very much.

I must thank Jean, Claris and Karen for helping me at times with the GEMs. Very tiring but it's heartwarming to see that they enjoyed the day.

Our Genting Trip on 12 - 14 Jun 09

This trip was initially planned to celebrate Gems' birthdays. But mei mei was sick almost throughout Dec 08 - May 09. This time, we got clearance from the KKH's docs that it's save, just gotta remember to bring her puff and medicines and use when necessary.

Papa rented an 8-seater car (forgot to take a pic of it) from JB coz' BL ah gong and ah mah joining us (our Nissan Sunny too pathetic to squeeze in all).

We stayed at First World Hotel, the nearest one to the Theme Park. The Gems were ecstatic the moment they saw the indoor theme park when we were there for dinner the first night. Mei mei was "wah-ing" the whole time. Pearlyn too was screaming and jumping up and down. All the queues were extremely long, in the end, we took a few rides with short queues and coax them back to the hotel room and call it a day. Erm, not for Papa of coz, he went to try his luck at the casinos and "dump" us in the hotel room.

Most of the 2nd day were spent at the Outdoor Theme Park. It rained a little but luckily, it stopped pretty soon so we can resume the other rides. Pearl enjoyed the rodeo ride that she took it 4x. Mei mei had it 2x. We are quite surprise she enjoys it and was laughing delightfully.



BL ah gong and ah ma didn't really join us for our activities. They prefer to explore on their own 兩人世界 hehehe.

Overall, the Gems were quite obedient. Hmm, looks like they're ready to go somewhere further next time...

The Big Club Concert

The last time we watch a performance was Princess On Ice. The gems didn't really enjoy it. This time, mei mei enjoys the concert very much, probably coz' Barney's her best friend...

The Animal Resort

With the surge in the number of H1N1 cases, we've decided to avoid the enclosed and crowded place. I guess the animals are probably safer than human being nowadays... hehe

Although The Animal Resort does not have a lot of animals (like the zoo), it's enough to get the gems excited. There's lots of dogs, a couple of horses, ducks and geese, koi, 1 or 2 lamb, parrots, hamsters, ginea pigs, rabbits.

We thought mei mei was very brave to feed the horse, but after the horse "kissed" her little hand, she back-out with a "dun wang, scared scared"...hahahaha. Pearl needless to say, was standing behind me the whole time, hence, she's out of the pictures most of the time.

Sushi Making by the kids on parents' day celebration

We celebrated Parents' Day at my new house. (We usually combine Mother's and Father's and have a Parents' Day instead).

Ah Ma's funeral

This is the attire for 内曾孙。For 外曾孙，there's a piece of red cloth in the middle.

Papa wears a navy blue piece with a 麻布 in the middle. That's for the deceased's eldest son's eldest's son. Our chinese customs very 讲究, a look at the colour, you'll know what's the relationship between that person and the deceased. Here's what I noted:-

麻布　= own children
麻布 = with a piece of red cloth = son-in-law
Navy blue = 内孙
Navy blue with a piece of red cloth =　外孙
Green = 增内孙
Green with a peice of red cloth = 增外孙

I think red is for 增僧孙, not very sure. Please enlighten me if you know the answer.

Mei Mei's 10th day in the childcare centre

This morning look soooo beautiful to me, know why? Mei Mei finally wear her uniform willingly, without screaming and crying!!

She was happy on her way to the centre too. Did not act like a koala like before, she actually walks herself all the way to the centre.



She even walks into the centre herself and said bye bye to me! This day had finally arrived. I can finally go to work without a heavy heart.
