Our Genting Trip on 12 - 14 Jun 09

This trip was initially planned to celebrate Gems' birthdays. But mei mei was sick almost throughout Dec 08 - May 09. This time, we got clearance from the KKH's docs that it's save, just gotta remember to bring her puff and medicines and use when necessary.

Papa rented an 8-seater car (forgot to take a pic of it) from JB coz' BL ah gong and ah mah joining us (our Nissan Sunny too pathetic to squeeze in all).

We stayed at First World Hotel, the nearest one to the Theme Park. The Gems were ecstatic the moment they saw the indoor theme park when we were there for dinner the first night. Mei mei was "wah-ing" the whole time. Pearlyn too was screaming and jumping up and down. All the queues were extremely long, in the end, we took a few rides with short queues and coax them back to the hotel room and call it a day. Erm, not for Papa of coz, he went to try his luck at the casinos and "dump" us in the hotel room.

Most of the 2nd day were spent at the Outdoor Theme Park. It rained a little but luckily, it stopped pretty soon so we can resume the other rides. Pearl enjoyed the rodeo ride that she took it 4x. Mei mei had it 2x. We are quite surprise she enjoys it and was laughing delightfully.



BL ah gong and ah ma didn't really join us for our activities. They prefer to explore on their own 兩人世界 hehehe.

Overall, the Gems were quite obedient. Hmm, looks like they're ready to go somewhere further next time...

The Big Club Concert

The last time we watch a performance was Princess On Ice. The gems didn't really enjoy it. This time, mei mei enjoys the concert very much, probably coz' Barney's her best friend...

The Animal Resort

With the surge in the number of H1N1 cases, we've decided to avoid the enclosed and crowded place. I guess the animals are probably safer than human being nowadays... hehe

Although The Animal Resort does not have a lot of animals (like the zoo), it's enough to get the gems excited. There's lots of dogs, a couple of horses, ducks and geese, koi, 1 or 2 lamb, parrots, hamsters, ginea pigs, rabbits.

We thought mei mei was very brave to feed the horse, but after the horse "kissed" her little hand, she back-out with a "dun wang, scared scared"...hahahaha. Pearl needless to say, was standing behind me the whole time, hence, she's out of the pictures most of the time.

Sushi Making by the kids on parents' day celebration

We celebrated Parents' Day at my new house. (We usually combine Mother's and Father's and have a Parents' Day instead).

Ah Ma's funeral

This is the attire for 内曾孙。For 外曾孙，there's a piece of red cloth in the middle.

Papa wears a navy blue piece with a 麻布 in the middle. That's for the deceased's eldest son's eldest's son. Our chinese customs very 讲究, a look at the colour, you'll know what's the relationship between that person and the deceased. Here's what I noted:-

麻布　= own children
麻布 = with a piece of red cloth = son-in-law
Navy blue = 内孙
Navy blue with a piece of red cloth =　外孙
Green = 增内孙
Green with a peice of red cloth = 增外孙

I think red is for 增僧孙, not very sure. Please enlighten me if you know the answer.

Mei Mei's 10th day in the childcare centre

This morning look soooo beautiful to me, know why? Mei Mei finally wear her uniform willingly, without screaming and crying!!

She was happy on her way to the centre too. Did not act like a koala like before, she actually walks herself all the way to the centre.



She even walks into the centre herself and said bye bye to me! This day had finally arrived. I can finally go to work without a heavy heart.

A Very Barney Christmas

We're catching the 1pm Barney show at Plaza Singapura today. Mum will be joining me and the girls today and we'll be taking the MRT! Know what? Its mei mei's first MRT ride!



Making new friends...






Nice show, but was badly organised. The mail designated only a very very small area for the children to sit. And there's 2 roadshow going on just in front of the stage, The Body Shop and OTO, at the same area. Its very very squeezy and disorganised. Reckon won't go for any show in PS anymore. The ones at United Square are always nicely organised and they usually have quite a big area for children to sit in with 1 parent. It's gonna be PS-no-more for me....

Mei Mei's 9th day in the childcare centre

Today slightly better. She still cried when I was changing her into her uniform and on our way to the centre, but she didn't scream like before. She actually let Ms Ng hold her hand and went inside the centre, but continue her wailing. As if she had resigned to her fate already.

Papa went to peek at her at 9am. Still happily eating her breakfast.

Papa went back to peek again (还说不偏心?!) at 9.30am. She was sitting together with the other children playing blocks with jie jie. She looks fine now. What a relief!

Mei Mei's 8th day in childcare centre

It's another day of crying, again.

Papa wants to send both girls to school but mei mei refused to be carried by him. 妈妈得出马才行。 As usual, 一看到Ms Ng就像看到鬼。 Poor Ms Ng. I must really thank Ms Ng and apologise for all the trouble my little gem had given her these few days. On some occasion, mei mei cried too hard that she vomited and poor Ms Ng gotta clean her up. Not easy to be a childcare teacher after all.....

We send them in already, stayed outside for a while, then went back to peek at them. Saw Pearlyn holding mei mei's hand going to the bathroom to wash their hands. Then, they seated down at the breakfast area. We can see jie jie 比手划脚 explaining to mei mei that all children must go to school, all adults must go to work, mummy will come and fetch them after work...bla bla bla. Such a sweet jie jie. 真的要颁给她 “最佳好姐姐奖”！！

Tonight still don't want to sleep with me. As per last night, stick with my mum the whole night. End up fell asleep in between my mum's legs. After she's sound asleep, my mum gotta carefully carry over to my room. Saw my mum's eyes and nose turned red. Next year, she won't be able to take care of her anymore. She said very 不舍得mei mei, as they have been spending so much time together, eating, napping, watching TV and playing together.

Mei Mei's 7th day in the childcare centre

As usual, cry the minute I change her into the uniform and she cling onto me like a koala. Cried pretty hard today, guess it's due to the long weekend. Children usually feel moody on the first day of the week as they had been at home for the past weekends. Ms Ng carried her inside, out of my view, so that she can calm down. I waited outside for a while. After just a while, she stop crying.

Ah Ma went to peek at her at 8.30am. She was sitting with jie jie and the other children waiting for her breakfast to be served. Jie jie was handing over her the water bottle and telling her to drink some water. Jie jie is really doing a splendid job taking care of her little sister. All thanks to her that I rest assure mei mei is well taken care of.

Went back home at 5.30pm.

Mei Mei refused to sleep with me tonight, don't even want me to carry 伤心死了！She stick to my mum like super glue. Haven't seen Ah Ma for the whole day, miss her so much. In the end, she fell asleep in my mum's room and then I carried her back to my room. zzzzzzzzz

Mei Mei's 6th day in the childcare centre

As usual, cry.

Papa went to peek at her at about 10.30am. Jie jie was taking her bath and mei mei waiting outside the bathroom for her, holding on to her bolster, looking sad. After that, she follows closely to wherever jie jie goes. Papa said jie jie takes very good care of mei mei, keeping her little sister near to her and protecting her when another little boy came over to push mei mei and snatched their toys. Mei mei just sits there, looking at other children playing. Guess she's tired as 10.30am was usually her morning nap time.

Ah gong fetch her home at 5pm today.

Winx Club Enchantix Christmas

We are lucky that papa finishes his work early today. Off we go to the Winx Club Enchantix Christmas show at United Square....





Pearlyn and Tory wanted to take picture with Winx Club. Linda and I rushed to the Cold Storage to grab more than S$30 of items to exchange for a ticket for the photoshoot.



United Square full of rides for children, so must get ready lots of S$1 coins...





I will try to bring the girls to A Very Barney Christmas at Plaza Singapura the coming weekend. Mei Mei is sure gonna love it. Will be on my own, hmm...wonder if I can handle both myself..will try...
